I participated in THIMUN this year but I am a senior this year, therefore I won't be able to participate as a delegate in THIMUN next year, which I am very disappointed about. I was wondering if I could apply for chair, and if possible, then how and where?

THIMUN is a secondary school Model United Nations. Chairs and Student Officers have to be enrolled in a secondary school. However, next year you may apply for participation in the THIMUN Youth Assembly. |

How do I get to The Hague?
-
That depends on where you live.
By plane: via Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport. We provide an airport pick-up service (airport-hotel v.v.) which you can book prior to the conference.
By train: The Hague is well connected with two large train stations but most international trains stop at Holland Spoor.
|
When do we get our tram tickets?
-The tram tickets are attached to the badge and these are available from registration which starts on the Sunday morning. If you want to use public transport in The Hague before that time you need to buy separate tickets. The best options are "strippen cards". |
I would like to apply for a position as a chair in one of the commisions, when and how can I get hold of a form to apply?
-
The Student Officer Forms for the following year are part of the Administrative Handbook of the same year. The forms can also be downloaded from the THIMUN website under the Downloads Section. |
What age level is THIMUN for?
-
THIMUN is a Model United Nations programme for secondary school students between the ages of 15-19. |
Next year I would like to be a member of the MUNITY/MUNITY Online press team. What do I have to do?
-
Once the application forms become available on the THIMUN website or from your MUN Director, get one for MUNITY or MUNITY Online.
Students applying for positions as Press Delegates must return these forms together with a letter of application and their MUN-Director's recommendation by the given date. Letters of application should outline the candidates' experience and qualifications and should state what they hope to achieve and/or what their contribution they think they can make to the conference. MUN-Directors' recommendations should include some reference to the candidates' academic performance, school and extra-curricular activities.
In the meantime you should gain experience in the journalistic field by either taking pictures or write articles for a local or school newspaper. |
