Dear THIMUN Participants,

It is an honor to welcome to you to THIMUN this year as President of the Human Rights Commission. I'm a senior at the American School of Dubai and this will be my third year at THIMUN.

I have been involved in virtually every aspect of MUN, serving at one point or another as a delegate, chair, rapporteur, and Secretary General, and have come to greatly respect the program and the unique experience it offers.

Without a doubt, THIMUN is the week I look most forward to all year. I am always impressed by the constructive nature of debate.

Saying this, THIMUN offers more than just an outstanding quality of debate. It offers an environment of unparalleled international understanding and open-mindedness and a unique opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds.

I hope that we can facilitate both these qualities in the Human Rights Commission this year and strongly encourage you, as delegates and leaders of the future, to make the most of the THIMUN experience.

I wish you the best of luck in your preparation, as my experience has taught me that the preparation leading up to a conference is just as important as the conference itself.

I am greatly looking forward to celebrating THIMUN's 40 th Anniversary and to meeting all of you in January!
