Dear Participants,
January 2007 marks the 39th Annual Session of The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) and the 9th session of the THIMUN Youth Assembly.
Please read the enclosed information and instructions very carefully. Following them will ensure a smooth running of our and your preparations and will make the upcoming session of THIMUN another big success.
Pre-Conference lobbying
For pre-conference lobbying purposes THIMUN encourages all participants to register on the THIMUN Discussion Forum Site http:/www.thimun.org/forum. There will be separate sections to discuss the issues on the agenda of THIMUN 2007. The forum will be operational as of the beginning of November at the latest.
MUN-Directors’ Assignment Form
Please fill in and return the MUN-Directors ‘Assignment Form by 17 November 2006. We try to assign MUN-Directors listed on form II at least one task and it is very helpful if you could let us know in which area you would prefer to work. If you are coming with more than one MUN-Director, please photocopy the form and fill in a separate form for each person. The MUN-Directors’ assignment form may either be faxed or mailed. Please use fax number 0031 70 356.27.75.
Badges
Under our download section, soon you will be able to download the badge forms. Those who get our mailing will receive a paper copy. This form has to be filled in for all participants, regardless of their assignment (e.g. delegate, MUN-Director, Student Officer etc.). Please follow the instructions on the form closely. Later in the THIMUN office the photos will be transferred from the forms onto the actual badges, which will be handed out to you at registration in January 2007. Please remember that the THIMUN ID Badge is the primary means of identification for all participants, proof of a delegate’s credentials and a HTM Public Transport Ticket. The enclosed form should be returned to us for processing by 17 November 2006. Please read the following instructions carefully before completing the forms.
Instructions for completing and returning the Badge Forms.
- The names on the Badge Form must match those on Form II, if any changes are made to the names on Form II, please indicate clearly on the Badge Form.
- Each student is assigned to one specific Council, Sub-Commission, GA Committee, Special Conference or Advisory Panel.
- For MUN-Directors, chaperones and student officers, please fill in those functions and do not forget to send in their photos as well.
- Photocopy the form for the right number of participants your school wants to register for the Conference.
- Photographs should be trimmed to fit in the frame and stuck with glue. Do not use tape or staples.
- Under no circumstances send loose photographs to THIMUN unless instructed otherwise.
- Under no circumstances try to fax or e-mail the badge forms. They MUST be mailed.
- All changes made after sending the Badge Form back must be notified immediately to the THIMUN office. Please remember that changes to assignments will cost Euro 30.00 for each new badge made. Therefore switching students within delegations will cost you twice Euro 30.00. We will only charge Euro 30.00, however, for making a badge for a new participant substituting for some-one who has had to drop-out.
Finally, if you require additional badges e.g. for additional MUN-Directors or chaperones, please inform the office as soon as possible. We will advise you of further procedures.
